Structurally sound
We have just recently completed Raymond Hall's website showcasing his work as an architect. Raymond Hall Ltd wanted something clean, contemporary and easy to navigate in order to display some of the fantastic work he has created as an architect over the years.
We also installed a flip book system to give his projects a nice 3D hands on effect.

A star performance
When we first met Marion, we realised right from the start this was going to a fun project. Marion has built up an enormous resource within the mental health environment. Marion wanted a site which not only reflected the positive and vibrant work Star Wards was famous for, but a resource for Wards themselves to pull on and then distribute within their daily running of their own schedule.
Since we have launched the site we have added, newsletters, galleries and a full download area for Star Wards's articles and resources to be accessed. We hope to work for Marion for quite some time and both parties are very happy with the work so far, even Buddy, their mascot.

Ultimate success
Starting a banking recruitment agency in this climate is a tough challenge. Ultimate Banking are a small but very experienced team of consultants that needed to quickly establish a powerful online presence. They also wanted to be able to control the content on the site to make it as up-to-date and relevant as possible in a fast-changing marketplace.
Within four weeks we developed a brand identity for them, and wrote, designed and built a website from scratch. The Joomla! framework we used provides them with a cost-effective content management system. The site even has its own blog, allowing Ultimate Banking to create a more informal medium through which they can post news and views, get feedback and push content to subscribers via an RSS feed.
We don't claim to know a thing about quantitative easing or fiscal stimulation, but we do know how to build great looking, hard-working websites for professional businesses.

A snapi system
The RNIB knows that technology can be both a huge hindrance and a great help to the blind and partially-sighted community, and part of their role is to make technology accessible to those with sight problems.
Recently, Gunpowder Studios was asked to create the website for SNAPI, a new system which allows partially-sighted users to record and edit their own preferences for how they would like to view information on any SNAPI-enabled terminal.
The site, which itself complies with RNIB guidelines on accessibility, is a secure user-application website built with Ruby on Rails (the language behind Twitter), that acts as the main portal for the partially-sighted user to log in and control their preferences, from font size and colour schemes to audio options. Profile information is then transferred to the user's travel concession card, allowing them to use the card to access other SNAP terminals and view sites the way they have chosen.
The system is due to go into full production soon, and we are already working on further website development.

A model student
Gunpowder Studios have just designed, built and launched a new website for Chris Snode's Sports Promotions and Modelling Agency.
The former Olympic gold medalist asked us to create a full searchable facility for more than 500 models. The site is fully editable via its own Content Management System. Other features include:
• Search by gender and sporting discipline
• Client and admin lightboxes for shortlisting prospects
• Cover-flow photo display feature
• Client content editor
• Photo and description editing
• Model text-messaging system
This was a bespoke site built to a very specific brief. Chris wanted a comprehensive site with a lot of content and useability, but one where the primary reason for the site - finding just the right model - was an easy undertaking for the visitor.

Jelly and Gunpowder go well together
Gunpowder Studios have been working with Jellyhead 3D since 2002. We helped them to create their identity and logo, and establish a very recognisable brand. Now their website is a colourful and active home from which to promote the amazing work they do creating promotional costumes, props and models for marketing and entertainment. Their work has featured on Harry Hill's TV Burp and the latest series of The Apprentice.
Because Jellyhead 3D is a busy business with lots of new things to show and shout about, they wanted a site they could update regularly and easily. Showcasing their work in a slick gallery was also important, as was the need to have business support functionality such as an online calendar and direct mail facility.
We felt that Joomla! was a perfect fit for Jellyhead 3D, with lots of bespoke work by us to give the client a unique looking site that kept the Jellyhead 3D brand and colour pallette strong and lively.

Moving boxes
The Harrow Green website is almost five years old and, with little maintenance, has remained a compelling and comprehensive site through several busy years of changes to the brand identity and the growth and spread of Harrow Green's services. The large site took three months to build, but has had an impressive shelf life well beyond the years of most sites. Its ability to continue to be more than fit-for-purpose has provided Harrow Green with exceptional value from their original investment.
The Harrow Green site was a close collaboration between their own marketing team, a writer and project manager, our colleague company Laker Sharville (as identity consultants) and members of the Gunpowder Studios team. It is a completely bespoke site featuring Flash, CSS scripting and unique design elements. The client manages some of the content through their own Adobe Contribute licence.

Firing line
The web can be a highly effective medium for artists to show and promote their work, if the site is designed with sensitivity and care. When we devised and built the website for artist and ceramicist Jane Muir we wanted her work to feature strongly, with little else to distract the eye.
To show off her work as faithfully as possible and to best effect, Jane commissioned a professional photographer for the site, anorther key element of creating visually-led sites. The quality of the photography and the deliberately spare design environment created by Gunpowder Studios have combined to create a striking artist's space.
Like all successful artists, Jane would rather be in the studio than parked in front of a laptop, so we also made it quick and easy for her to update the site herself with new images of her work, and the ability to add new pages.
It was great fun working with such a talented and original artist as Jane.

The perfect partnership
It is an unfortunate fact that the websites of talented tradespeople often leave a lot to be desired in terms of design and communication. That's why it was such a pleasure to produce a site for decorating specialist Hurding & Ferri. Clean and crisp like a newly decorated room, and neatly and simply written, the Hurding & Ferri site is intended to reflect the attention to quality and detail that the company provides to its customers.
As well as designing and building the site, we created the Hurding & Ferri logo, and arranged their printed stationery, vehicle livery and signage. The site features a Flash gallery to showcase Hurding & Ferri's impressive work, and an animated logo adds a dynamic introduction to the site.
Job done. Stick the kettle on.

Set in stone
Richard Smythe has worked closely with stone for many years. When he decided to set up his own business, he asked us to write, design and build a site that would help clients to understand stone and the stunning products that can be made from it. He also wanted to convey high-quality stone working as a craft, not just a building process, creating an engaging and accessible site for retail and commercial customers. The design focus was on a solid presence, skillfully finished.
Customers can see stone samples close-up, and clear sections on the site provide instant access to relevant information for commercial clients and those wishing to view Richard's original fireplace range.
We constructed the site from the ground up, hewn from the web's very own raw materials, HTML and CSS, shaped and turned into a bespoke website, and completed with a strong identity and professionally commissioned photography.
An enduring site that conveys the beauty, versatility and permanence of Richard's work.
